Pond Hockey

Updated: Mar 23, 2021

The NHL kicked off their outdoor games this weekend featuring 2 games; the Colorado Avalanche vs the Vegas Golden Knights which took place on Saturday February 20th, & game two will feature the Philadelphia Flyers vs the Boston Bruins on Sunday night, the 21st. The games will take place on the 18th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Lake Tahoe. The experience is like no other, but without fans, which of course takes the special moments away from the die hard fans of these teams. Nonetheless, you can still sit home on your coach and drink beer for much cheaper than being there and paying the crazy prices.

Colorado is one of the favorites to win it all this year even though they are sitting 3rd in their division. This team is just stacked with young potential entering their 3rd and 4th years in the league. I took them to win yesterday & they did not disappoint. The Avalanche won a close one, 3-2, in the first outdoor game of the NHL season. Boston should win the second game of the outdoor games tonight. Boston has just been tearing it up this year, only having 3 losses so far on the season. Boston could be the team that comes out of the eastern conference.

It is very hard to say who is the clear cut favorite to win Lord Stanley this year because of the new divisions that have been set in place due to coronavirus. There are 8 teams in each division and you only play your division the whole year; each team playing each other 8 times each. This means more head to head battles and a lot more rivalry games that are going to be played, which if you are a hockey fan, you wanna see a bloodbath and close games because it feels like playoff hockey. Nothing else in sports comes close to playoff hockey. We are in for a thrill of a season and we are only a quarter through it so far, and already seeing great competition.

The Play

I picked Colorado to beat Vegas last night, come ride with me and Boston tonight.
